Should I shave or trim prior to waxing?

No. In order to get a smooth wax with less tweezing, hair needs to be a minimum of ¼ inch long.  Longer the better!

How long will my appointment take?

Waxing treatments vary from client to client, as we are all different sizes and it will take much longer to wax someone that is very hairy for the first visit, than it will for a client who has regular waxing carried out. With all our new waxing clients we set enough time aside to deal with the pre waxing consultation, the waxing and to discuss aftercare in more detail. With regular clients we will know how long your treatment takes and will set aside enough time to carry out the treatment. It is important you arrive at the scheduled appointment time so that there is enough time to carry out your treatment without having to rush.

When will the hair grow back?

Generally, most clients will get about two weeks of nice smooth soft skin after their waxing; however, clients that have been shaving on a frequent basis or clients that have used hair removal creams often find that it can take a few waxes to get a smooth finish. If you decide that you are going to maintain your body waxing then you really should have this done every 4-6 weeks and the area will be smooth and hair free for the maximum time. Regular waxing or maintenance waxing is easier as the hair regrowth is much finer and a lot easier to remove. So, if you want to be the smoothest peach on the beach, book your follow up appointment before you leave.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment? What is the Cancellation Policy?

We understand that life happens and there may be times that you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Please try to provide a 24 hour notice prior to cancelling or rescheduling so we can fill your appointment time. If you no call / no show or cancel/reschedule the appointment within 24 hours of your scheduled time, you will be charged 50% of your total service price. Your scheduled time is reserved for you so others are unable to book those times. Those times need to be respected so we can continue offering high quality services and a great experience to all our customers. All clients must have a valid credit or debit card on file to book an appointment. If you have any questions about this, feel free to call or text and we will be happy to discuss this with you!

What happens if I arrive late for my appointment?

Please note that you need to observe the times allocated for your appointment. We often have clients booked before and after your appointment so you need to arrive at your scheduled time. If you arrive early, please enjoy our complimentary refreshments and relax. If you arrive late for your appointment, and if we have a client booked afterwards, this may result in having to cancel your appointment, or offering you a reduced treatment time. If the service has to be cancelled or rescheduled, the cancellation policy will apply.

What types of wax do you use?

We use only the best hard and soft waxes at The Spa Society.  Our wax, which is made in France, is made from the finest ingredients that provide an exceptional waxing experience and no damage to the skin or broken hairs.  For our intimate waxing, we use a combination of hard and strip waxes to provide a smooth wax and also be gentle on delicate areas.  For our body waxing we use strip wax to provide a quick and effective service.

How do I make an appointment?

The easiest way to schedule an appointment is to book through our website; however, we can book your appointment through text or phone call also. Text is often the better way to get in touch with us if you have questions or need to schedule, because we are not able to answer the phone while we are with a client.   Text  or Call  405-640-8571

Will waxing hurt?

Yep, a little bit. But not as much as you would expect. We are removing hair from the root after all, but the treatment is quick and using the best waxes and good waxing techniques, waxing can be fairly painless. We will keep your skin taut and this will help in terms of the hair removal. Some clients prefer to take Tylenol/advil/ibuprofen about 30 minutes before the treatment, but that is not necessary. The first time you wax, it will be more painful; however, waxing is much quicker and much more comfortable if it’s maintained on a regular basis, so please book your next appointment before you leave.

Can I get waxed while I’m on my period?

Definitely! We ask that you insert a new tampon before the service and let your technician know.

What should I do before and after my waxing treatment?

Prior to getting waxed please exfoliate.  Some clients prefer to take an advil/Tylenol/ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to their appointment, but that isn’t required.  Please make sure your hair is long enough- hair needs to be ¼ inch long in order to be waxed.  Please refrain from shaving for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment.  Please DO NOT trim your hair if you think it may be too long- when it comes to waxing, the longer the better! Most of the time when people trim, they trim the hair too short.  This results in more tweezing during your appointment and a not-so-smooth wax. Caffeine and alcohol can heighten your senses and make your waxing experience more uncomfortable, so please retrain from both before waxing.

After your waxing treatment, please exfoliate daily.  This will prevent ingrown hairs.  Also, please avoid sex or exercising for 24 hours after waxing in order to avoid getting sweat and bacteria in your open follicles, which can cause ingrown hairs.  For all new clients, a welcome pack will be provided which contains exfoliating gloves, samples of our after care product, and an after care instruction card!

Can I get waxed if I am pregnant?

Absolutely! We regularly wax women throughout all stages of their pregnancy.  If you have specific concerns, you may want to discuss them with your doctor before getting waxed; however, we have found waxing to be an excellent solution for our pregnant clients.

How long will lash/brow tint or lash perm last?

Tinting and perming will last the life of your lashes and brows.  Most clients, get on a regime of getting these services done every 4 weeks.

How long will my all natural airbrush spray tan last?

Your spray tan can last up to 7 days.  In order to maintain your tan longer moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Avoid exfoliating and make sure to wait the full 8 hours prior to showering after your appointment.
